Originally the Melrose Power Station, invented by Joseph and Max Berlin in 1981. The name was changed to Powerceptor so that it could Trademark the name (Power Station could not be Trademarked since it was made up of 2 common words). Soon thereafter several clones appeared, and one of them even used the name Power Station...but the competition was no competition.
POWERCEPTOR®’S ARE SO UNIQUE, U.S. PATENTS D313,394 AND
U.S. PATENT D353,576 WERE GRANTED TO PROTECT THE DESIGN. IN ORDER TO AVOID PATENT INFRINGEMENT, THE COMPETITION
INTRODUCED IMITATIONS THAT ARE UNCONVENTIONALLY AND DISADVANTAGEOUSLY DIFFERENT.
Each are equipped with heavy duty air line disconnect couplers and connectors at no extra charge.
Must be purchased as an extra, the cost of which needs to be taken into consideration.
FRL is located near the bottom of the Powerceptor®, a safe distance away ( 10”) from the electric outlets.
To avoid patent infringement each are located within 1 inch of the electric outlets, clearly a potential hazard.
Each have a full size, easily adjustable separate air regulator to simplify changing torque of impact wrenches to vehicle manufacturer’s specifications.
Units are made with less efficient less costly mini combination air regulator/moisture separator, with no reference to filtration capability.
